Our Story

When I think of going home, I envision the road to my grandfather’s farm, followed by laughter and conversations on his porch with friends and family. Those visits were when I felt most content. It wasn’t about wealth or material things; rather, it was the belief that true happiness stems from relationships—with friends, family, and our Creator.

At Contentment, we prioritize this guiding philosophy. Our club was created to foster a true feeling of contentment. Think of Contentment as coming home to family where everyone belongs, no one is perfect, and all are loved and welcome.

Contentment consists of almost 800 acres of farmland tucked into a valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and serves as a memorial to the spirit of Richard and Thelma Sidden. It's an environment where relationships are the focal point. Where family and friends can gather, relax, and retreat to a peaceful natural setting, spending time with friends and family, and we hope our members will find their own contentment.

We at Contentment are positive; that this is a true blessing; and he to whom is here need to ask no more. You will at some point, let go, and allow Contentment to come to you.

Gather

The House (our name for the clubhouse) will be a central gathering spot for members and guests.  Sitting on the main ridge, The House offers expansive views of the Blueridge mountains and overlooks the first tee and ninth green.  The large, Himalayas style putting green is directly outside the locker rooms.  Members will use The House and outside areas to relax and get to know each other.

Relax

Member Cottages, ready at the club’s opening, will offer two to four bedrooms, a gathering area, and bathroom facilities in a rustic, elegant style. These cozy homes invite members to unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings. The Clubhouse will also offer lodge-style rooms, with plans for more cottages to take advantage of scenic vistas.

Play

At Contentment, fun and relaxation go hand in hand. Enjoy peaceful fishing at our 5-acre lake stocked with bream and bass or venture to nearby Stone Mountain State Park. Our staff can arrange day trips for added adventure. With miles of hiking trails and fitness facilities, there’s always a way to stay active and connect with nature.

Contentment will lead you to true happiness.
